This was originally classified as C back in Dec because research seemed to indicate that it was nearly identical to Apogon leptacanthus, A. compressus, and Pajama Cardinals, all Class C species.
Do you have any information to so that this species does not follow the same pattern as these other species?

I'm fully inclined that this should remain C. Simply to give a frame of reference, even the Harlequin Filefish, Oxymonacanthus longirostris, is currently Class C, I'd argue it's the dividing line between class C and D. Given that, O. longirostris (which maybe SHOULD be class D) would have to be Class D before we could even consider a cardinalfish being D. D is pretty much the top end..many other similar cardinalfish species have been reared in captivity already (A. compressus and A. leptacanthus come to mind immediately, and there are others). Furthermore, I'd argue that just about everything in Class D will hatch as a prolarvae (A. margaritophorus is fairly well developed as larvae), and likely they're all going to be pelagic spawners...
Remember ,the classes are pretty broad.
