The only real difference that I notice is the size of the male is much larger. I have learned to tell them apart by where they hang out in the tank and the female eats alot more than the male(which hardly ever comes out of the PVC tube). I have been pulling larva nightly for the past 4 days. I am using a 7g BRT. I estimate pulling ~200 larva but the survival rate is pretty low at this point. I think I lost way less when transferring into the square 10g tank for some reason. It's harder to see/count them in the BRT so I hope to keep the greenwater and rots going with my fingers crossed that some will make it past 8 days (my previous record). I am keeping a super clear corrugated plastic cover over 80% of the tank to offer different light densities. These larva are at least half the size of my percula larva. I have one airstone going in the middle at a low rumble. Light is 24hours. Updates to come.

Another local breeder has taken over this project due to my lack of time. He is a regular on this site
