Tal, you are using 12 ml each day for the same volume of rots that I'm keeping. Now that I've removed the majority of the O. marina, I am also decreasing the volume of RGcomplete I'm using, to approximately 15 ml per day. But I am watching the rots to see how much they need.

Last count I had 250 rots per ml! Yay! I'm using about 18 ml per day, about 3 ml every 4 hours around the clock. I take out 2 gallons a day of the 8 gallon culture.

A month and a half later I've just had my first smelly crash. I failed to do the rotifer /water exchange for 2 days in a row, and I was left with 8 gallons of dead smelly rots. All the rotifers were dead, however O. marina was still evident. Gotta call my friend at the University…And just my luck, the dottybacks spawned today. I've got 4 days to recover.

Here's what rotifers look like when you grow them on live phytoplankton: Count the eggs….
