well lost the last one today at 31 dph non made it to meta, but i think it was a good effort considering i only started with 30ish, and its only my third attempt thought i'd sum up some of my very basic observations here, so there all in one place 12-15 dph started losing fry (possible nutrition) est 1/2 cm in lenght 14 dph noticed black marking appearing behind the stomach and near tail. 22 dph est 6 left (1/2+ cm long est) 24 dph 3/4 left, some seem to be showing a blue/ grey colour to head area 28 dph 2 left 31 dph lost last one, had been moving strangly near the surface the night before

Very nice,Matt!.Congrats!. You should see the black line as the first color of meta.Resting on substrate (settlement) can happen shortly before or after.

Congrats on the success so far. BTW, it's really neat to see the "White Stripe" variant of the Sharknose Goby being done!

Thanks matt, that's something that had intreaged me but I haven't been able to find any info on Obviously, ora produce electic blue ones with a prominent extended yellow nose stripe Where as mine are very pale blue, with a short white stripe on the nose. Are there more variants that you know off? I have seen a drawing that suggested a yellow body one exists but I guess this could be a miss Id. or is natural hybridisation a factor here? Really interestingly the babies seem to look like the ora colours but I guess it will be hard to guess what will happen as they grow I've found these a lot harder then people make out (maybe because I'm a novice breeder) but have had way easyer faster results with Oceanops. It's taken a lot of tries to get 3 through and one of these still hasn't settled coloured at 50 dph?!? The only other real evidence I can find of the evenlynae being breed is the likes of ora and proaquatics and some non supported threads that claim to sucess on first attemp ect. another reason I was soo keen to get the reports in on this species

found this info regarding the white stripe Body long and cylindrical with two dorsal fins. The mouth is underslung, or shark-like. Upper body dark, underside pale. Three distinct color patterns exist, each in a geographical region: Brilliant blue-stripe pattern, with a brilliant yellow stripe in front of each eye, joining near the tip of the snout to form a 'V', on the back these 'V' fades into pale or brilliant blue body stripes. These patterns are found in the central Bahamas and extending south to the north coast of South America. Pale blue-stripe pattern, with a yellow stripe in front of each eye, joining near the tip of the snout to form a 'V', on the back these 'V' fades into yellow body stripes. These patterns are found in the central and northern Bahamas. White-stripe-stripe pattern, with a narrow white stripe in front of each eye, joining near the tip of the snout to form a 'V', on the back these 'V' fades into bluish white body stripes. These patterns are found in the mid-Caribbean. Size of all patterns up to 4 cm.

Well a lots happened, I lost one other off the 3 I had that settled shortly after moving them to a little pico tank, so I have one remaining that should be at 60 dps very soon. I've moved house and set up a new broodstock system, so the adults are now in a 2 ft tank as part of a 700ltr system, with 10 tanks, and the remaining juvenile, is in with 10 Oceanops and some baby clowns, need to push on with my grow out system in the new year!! Now before the move my adults stopped spawning, and tobe honest I thought that was it, but they settled in well and spawned for me yesterday just 12 days after being moved!! My main mission now is too hit some bigger numbers and build up a stock of juvi's before the pair retire permanently
