You can switch over to the frozen stuff after they've grown a bit. The frozen is too big at this stage.

The artemia nauplii lose their nutritional value rather quickly and grow too big to be eaten.

Are those rotifers in the water? If so, you can let them die off as all the juveniles should be eating the cyclopeeze by now. They are orienting themselves in a way that positions them in the path food is going. You can change that by placing 1 airstone against the side of the tank. The water will flow up, across the surface and down the other side. This should get them out away from the sides. My tanks are painted black so...

They are now eating well the crushed flakes from Ocen Nutrition, while still waiting for my tdo breeding Pack to arrive from USA. I have my nitrites with 20pp, trying to get it down with 30% change of wter daily. Put a sponge filter yesterday, so i think will get better. 2 big schools of them as you can see in this 15DPH video of my " Percularis " Any advices or critics are welcome http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-3kU1p8yJGM

Hi, i ordered the TDO breeder Pack from mariculture, and it should be here in two days from now. Can you give me a time frame of when you go from A to B's, B1 to B2 etc? I think as they are day 16 today, i should go for b1 or even b2, what do you say? I ask because i prefer not to open the smaller sizes and just keep it closed in refrigerator for a longer life in good conditions.

I start A around days 5-7. Move on to B1 around day 12-15. B2 after 3 weeks. These are averages as each batch will grow at slightly different rates. I base which food I use on the size of the fish. Just add a tiny bit to see if they will eat the larger size when transitioning.

Ok thanks again Fishtal for the precious and always present opinio. Most probably i´ll stick to B1, and after a few days to B2.

Hi, I got a dead fish today, and im not sure what cause him to end like that. I have my tank at 1.022 and temp around 78, 80 Fº. Nitrites are a litle high - between 20-30 ppm. I ve already put 2x filter sponges to see if it comes down but till now no results. I do not think it was bad water to kill him, orelse more wil be dead too. I notice oone fish last night standing alone and swimming in the surface. I think was the one i found dead now. For getting nitrites down im thinking on getimg my density do 1.024, and continuing doing a daily 30% water change. What do you say?? please give me some directions here. Here ´s 2 photos of the fish dead - he had around 0,95 mm wich i think it´s normal and ok for 16 days of life.

It's not uncommon to lose a fish after settlement. I wouldn't be too concerned as long as it's only one.

just like tal said, sometimes you end up with a couple dead ones after everything settles, did you notice any of them fighting cause they usually kill off the smaller ones , or at least with me they do...

Well this one is not one of the smaller ones, but yes i´ve been seing some duel fights over last days. Do tou think 20,30 ppm of nitrites is not such a big prob?

how often are you doing water changes on those babies?? shouldn't be too high to kill them at the range..
