I'm not sure if I'm going to have enough rotifers to raise this whole spawn since I just restarted my cultures and have 2 other spawns hatching this week.

I think this may be a rhetorical question, but they mostly get my homemade mash.  I feed the female lots of HBH Super Soft Spirulina pellets - especially the last few days before she spawns because she gets so huge I worry about her getting egg bound or constipated and exploding.  I should take a pic of her before spawning.

Yes, thank you.  The female still gets the discolored marks near her vent, and there is a lot of what seems like excess flesh when her ovipositor is out, so I'm really not sure what is going on there.  This seems "normal" for her.  Healthy though?  I'm not sure.  I haven't observed this pair spawning lately, so I'm not sure if there is still trouble with the eggs sticking or not.  The eggs she is laying are probably double the size they were when she first started spawning.

This is what 1261 larvae look like.  84 went unhatched lastnight, although they are still bubbling away in the hatching bucket.  I am worried about my rotifer numbers, I don't have a lot of them as I was just ramping up.  Only using up about 4 mL of RG+ per day.  I split the larvae into two 9-gallon BRTs filled about 2/3.

Surprisingly, my rotifers are keeping up with extra to spare.  I am surprised because I just restarted this rotifer culture from a very weak 500 mL starter from a friend on April 2nd, so I only had 7 days to ramp them up enough to support this large hatch.  Rotifers never fail to surprise me how prolific they can be.

The 04/09 hatch are all through meta now.  The majority started meta 11-12 dph.  There are hundreds of them, although there definitely isn't anywhere near 1200 anymore.  There has been daily die-off that is tapering down now.  I am anxious to make the 30 dph move to the growout tanks so I can count them.

So, from 1200+ larvae I have 195 that I just transferred to growout.  Apparently I'm still not very good at this!  I think my biggest fault was not using enough water volume for such a large batch.

When I came back from Cozumel I was out of homemade mash and all my broodstock were fed only frozen Mysis and Plankton for 3 weeks.  Most of my broodstock have been on a breeding hiatus since.  I made more homemade mash last weekend and have been pumping the fish full of food.  Hopefully things will start percolating in there soon!
