Yes, they are L-type.  I've not been able to get S-type or SS-type.  It seems like few people even have them to find someone that can send me a starter.   I don't think anyone on MBI has them...?  The article I linked to on page 2 suggests that the larvae aren't attracted to the movement of rotifers.

I thought Luis A M did a Chrysiptera species with just rotifers and that would likely be more comparable than the Sgt Major damsel...

I recognize that you don't have a pair at the moment, but just to keep putting options out there...could you get a decent Tisbe culture(s) going?  Tisbe naups are actually pretty small and Tisbe are relatively easy to culture.  This paper http://www.sciencedirect..../pii/S0044848611007241 says that they get 28,000 nauplii and copepodites per liter per day (let me know if you can't get the full pdf and want it) and, IIRC, the nauplii are like 55uM or so.  Perhaps those would work?

Shannon, I do need to get a Tisbe culture going.  It is one I would like to experiment with.

I actually haven't found any papers by Luis.  I have been hunting around on MOFIB a bit lately, and Luis is more active there - maybe I will come across something.

I think there was just a reefcentral post (2006?) about it after he got it to meta...I *thought* he just used rotifers, but I could be wrong since he does also do a lot of copepod culture.  Let me see if I can find the link to the thread

At a glance, looks like he used A. tonsa.

And here is C. parasema

He used S rots there and NO bbs

Sorry if you've seen any of these...I was just chasing links around and figured I would post them all
