Making Up

Remember my pair of Clowns that got into a fight a while back? Well, I guess they made up... Dad: Sorry about the blurry pics, I wanted to be as quick as possible so I didn't bother them too much. There looks to be about 100 eggs. I'm not sure if they did it today or yesterday... I was busy watching the Cards. The eggs look a bit sparse but this was their first try so I guess that's to be expected. The mixed pair that I got from Tanglovers/Scott look like they're up to something tonight too, we'll see.

Only a few made it to hatch night. They hatched on Sunday. There are 2 left but they seem to be doing well. The pic is a bit blurry 'cause I didn't use a flash, didn't want to scare them.

Cool pics. It is interesting that they are showing their colors after only 6 days. I am interested to see how the process works. I haven't done a lot of research on the rearing and breed side of things.

It will be interesting to see what happens. I have seen a lot of "births" lately being posted. Must be the water

Well, I made a potentially fatal mistake.[sm=wallbash.gif][sm=yelling.gif] I was using water from the broodstock syatem for water changes, assuming that it was fine because the broodstock seems fine. For some reason I decided to check Amm. and Nitrate levels on the BS system. The Amm. is fine but the Nitrates were at 10! [sm=chair.gif] I got that down today but the larval tank was really high when I checked it. I just finished water changes. I hope the babies can handle all the new water. I'm SO mad at myself right now!!!

I bet it's hard to keep the parameters in check while rearing those little guys. Especially how they feed. Hopefully they adjust well. So far the coolest thing in this hobby for me at least is baby fish. AJ

They are on day 8, post-hatch. I've had Dottys live to 16 days, but they're much tougher to raise.
