Baby Bangaii's - Thursday, April 23, 2009 3:20 PM

Well last night I finally stripped my baby bangaii's from Pa's mouth.  I counted a total of 27 babies.  24 hours later so far all of them are still accounted for.  I'm raising and cultivating baby brine shrimp for them and they seem to be getting nice and fat.  Here are some pics from last night just after striping them.

I'll have to see if I can get some better shots.  I'm terrible with a camera.

Sweet! What is your urchin made from...?

I have two LS urchins, and it was really cool to see them swimming in the spines while they were in the main tank.

Not sure why my email notifications aren't getting to me...  But yes I started them right out on day one on Brine shrimp.  I started cultivating the Brine Shrimp the night before I knew I was going to strip them so it would be ready.

So far after a week I count 26 babies out of the initial 27.  One of them was a dare devil and kept swimming close to the pump and I fear the worst happened.

I'll update their pictures tonight.  They have already double in size.

My Ghetto urchin is made from a PVC end cap and some weed whacker wire.

Here are some update pictures of my Babies one week and one day later.  All 27 of them still accounted for.  Its easier to count them when you freeze them in pictures!   These pictures were taken at 5:20 PM 04/30/2009.

Those are too cute! [sm=Super.gif]

You're right about using pics to count them.  There's no way I can count all my baby Clowns just by looking.

It always amazes me how fast these little guys grow.  In one week they've tripled in size..  I think they'll probably start eating frozen foods next week.
