I'm looking for something new to breed and I'm wondering if anyone else is looking for pairs.

Let us know what you're looking for.

I need 1 clarkii, 1 tomato, 1 orchid dottyback, and 1 maroon.  Then my broodstock setup will be full.  You were probably thinking Michigan Local though eh?

Not necessarily... I might be able to help you with an Orchid.

I was trying to see who was looking for pairs though.

I take it from your other post you don't believe them to be A. Sebae's any longer?

I'll be looking soon.  I will be setting up a small breeding setup soon and will be looking to breed multiple types of nano gobies.  I will do so in something like a 20g breeder with a few different breeding nets in it.  Each breeding net will house a pair of gobies.

I will try neon gobies, eviota gobies, trimma gobies...
Also mixed in would possibly be a pair of nano blennies like a pair of two spot bimaculatus blennies.

I got that idea from Matt Witt. at the breeders lecture.

Of course anything else I find that is unusual I would consider if I have somewhere to put it. The thing is that I don't want to set up a ton more tanks (already have 3, setting up 1 maybe 2 more).

I have a lead on a pair really rare blennies but they aren't nano so I would need another tank but IDK about that. Two hundred and eighty dollars later...

Oh and as soon as I can get my hands on a pair of fancy coral crouchers again, I will add them to my reef and hopefully they will breed.

Have you come across some info on breeding the Croucher or are you planning to blaze a new trail?

I have read that they will lay their eggs underneath a piece/brach of SPS like an acro after they clear some tissue away in the spot they want to lay the eggs.  I would use an SPS that was relatively cheap and not attach it to the rocks.  That way, after laying the eggs, I could just move the entire piece of SPS to where ever I will try to hatch and raise the larva.

I'll do some more reading once I get another pair but that's it in a nutshell.

Bongo: What type of coral crouchers are you talking about? Some of them that go by that name are, I think, related to scorpionfish and some are gobies (citrons, etc.).

If I had the time and money right now, I think I'd be heading off into the basslet realm.

Fancy Gumdrop Coral Crouchers which are mini scorpions.  This was my first pair, they didn't make it.

I was at Moby's before this was posted and they had some blennies but couldn't say what species for sure since I wasn't looking for them at the time. Check with Chad there, they usually have some.

Afterward I was at Atlantis and Amazon and neither had any.

I'm looking for a pair of Red Mandarin Dragonets, Pterosynchiropus splendidus. If anyone can help point me in the right direction I would appreciate it. Looking to get them within the month. They don't have to be mated. Just a male and female is fine. I'll take the chance on them pairing up.

I was thinking of trying nano gobies also.  I've got 5, er... 4 blue eye tiny dartfish but tbh, now I understand why Witt just shook his head no when I suggested such; they are just too small.  Now, I'm considering trying to work with some local species, maybe a pipefish or a dwarf seahorse.

well the lfs I usually go to said they can get me some but they don't get pairs from their supplier. They would have to just get me a male and female. They are only 15 a piece so it's not that bad even if I have to add another later on.

I usually get mine from the LFS. The owner is really good at helping me order in the fish I want and he usually orders extras to help me pair them up. Also, the wholesaler is mostly very good at helping if I can give them clues on how to sex the animals.

I talked to the LFS the other day. They are more than willing to get me a male and female, but they can't get pairs. On mandarins what would be the best way to go. Two males one female or two females one male or just stick one to one.
