So snazzy title aside, I am going to be making a trip again in about a week to go collect some more plankton. Having done this before I'm going to be making some changes:
1) I'll be using two different kinds of sieves to collect this time: My "standard" (100 Micron) mesh sieve, and I'm getting a 33 Micron mesh made.
The point of these are two fold: A) Try and get the small, small, small guys, and B) keep collections in "sizes".
2) I'll also be collecting at night and during the day, as I'll try to get adult pods (night time) and naups during the day. Sorted for size as well.
3) I"m going to attempt to try and get some glass/grass shrimp as well and start a culture of those too.
4) I'll be collecting in three places: 1) Open sea, 2) Sea Grass Beds, 3) brackish tidal flats.
To keep everything as fresh as I can, I'll collect the last couple of days before I head back. Cultures aerated with air pumps and tinted with DT's for the trip back. To get ready I'm setting up 10G tanks now so they will be ready for the pods when they get here.
As an added bonus, I'll take more pics than I did before.
As an even better bonus, IF YOU WANT SOME SIZE SORTED WILD PLANKTON - shoot me a PM/post here and I'll see what I can do
Shipping would be overnight when I got back, and that would be up to you.
