Species:  Stenopus hispidus, Coral Banded Shrimp
Social Structure:  pair
Size of Individuals:  male - 1.5" female - 1.75"
Age of Individuals:  Unknown
Date added to Tank:  9-10-10

Broodstock Tank Details
Size of Tank:  28 gallon NC HQI
Substrate Details:  sand
Filtration Details:  stock NC filtration
Water Changes:  when I have time
Water Temperature:  83
Lighting:  DE MH
Lighting Cycle:  13 hours
Other Tank Inhabitants: coral, anemone, fish when I'm allowed to add them  

Broodstock Feeding Details
Food Types:  Frozen (mysis, brine, etc) and pellets (Formula 1&2)
Feeding Schedule:  5x a day

Spawning Details
Date of First Spawn:  Female was carrying when we got the pair, then  9-28-10, then 10-12-10
Spawn Time of Day:  Evening
Dates of Consecutive Spawns: Roughly every 18 days or so...not like clockwork 
Courtship Details:  None that I've managed to see.  When I go to bed she's almost indistinguishable from the male, but when I wake up she's got a nest of greenish eggs on her underside.
Egg Size:  0.5mm
Egg Color:  mint green, then opaque white
Egg Count:  A bazillion...I'm not sure, maybe 2000?

Well, it looks like we need to move this pair to a tank with an egg collector.  We thought she was going to release shortly after lights out, but unfortunately she released sometime during the night last night.  Dumb shrimp   Oh well, I guess we'll try again next time.

This is another horrendous picture I know, but it's an accurate look at what color the eggs are when I say "minty green".  It's hard to take good pics with a macro through the curved glass of the nano, and she's harder to catch than most fish!
