Additional Information
Miscellaneous Information:  I got this group of fish from someone tearing down their tank.  I caught them, put them in a 5 gallon bucket to transport, and when I got home to move them into QT noticed an egg ball in the bottom of the 5 gallon bucket.  I didn't even know anyone was "expecting"!  The egg ball went into a hatching jar and the cardinals into a 10g QT tank.  The egg ball did not develop and was discarded.  The cardinals contracted what appeared to be velvet (in a cardinal?! ) and perished (a good lesson for those who do not QT...these fish had been with their previous owner for 6 months or more and appeared disease free when I put them into a sterile environment).  This journal is more to show that they spawned than to try and document rearing them.  If the opportunity arises to get another group I will do so, but this was the first and only time I've seen these fish offered anywhere in my area.
