Here is a pic of the last fish from the 10/26 clutch.

As you can see these guys are already very dark. The rear of them is already almost totally black.

Im going to need to submit a whole new set of reports on these guys if they spawn again. This guy settled and everything but I never submitted any of the required reports.  All I can do is feed feed feed.

You keep referring to a single fish or just two of them, "The other guy is behind the pipe...only two left from the first clutch." but your pic shows a bunch of juvies.  Same as "Here is a pic of the last fish from the 10/26 clutch", but I see three fish in there.

On another note, do you know where your fish came from?  (like wild, ORA, SA, etc)  They are much more black than most that I see.

Well first, look at the dates

There were only two left, one in that pic and the other was behind the stand pipe.

Im not sure on the chronology of the pics as this was almost a year ago and I stopped tracking the fish for some reason (school +  work i think...). I need them to spawn again so I can get a full report and get my little badge.

As far as the type, I have no idea. They are 95% black at 90DPH.  The fish in the pic is ~ 60-70DPH.

....and they are off...   I'd say around 350-450 eggs.

Last clutch is 5 days old right now.

Pic of an 8-10 hour old larvae. They sit at the bottom of the tank for the first 12-24 hours with little movement here and there but until the sack gets smaller they really cant move much.

Hey Adam, I notice you are using sand in your clown tanks, does the sand hold the angled tile up or are you using a heater suction cup?

Good job on the babies, they look good!

Re: Breeding Journal, Species: Amphiprion ocellaris (Darwin Black) - Monday, November 21, 2011 11:39 AM
Both.

In the tanks that have a very fine layer (.25"-.5") I use a suction cup. In some of the other tanks that I have a ~1"-1.5" layer I use the sand to hold the tiles and it does a good job.

The sand is Caribsea Reef grade (course).

Thanks for the kind words everyone.

I scared this guy to death I think. Seriously.

They look much darker from a top down than out of the water side to side.

.... or he ate too much.

I have perc juveniles that puff up like that at feeding time but I've never had it kill them. Seems like they are so piggy they get some air while feeding.

I moved the tub a little to get the cinder blocks and the 2x6"s in place and they were all freaking out when I did that. After the move, he was laying at the bottom and he wasnt just 20 mins prior to that so I think he had a weak heart.
