Kudos for your success Few people have raised comets:the problem doesn´t seem to be raising the larvae, but having them spawning.I kept my pair for some years and occasionally the female was found with ragged fins in the morning,a spawning sign, according to Mai.And once I found a dead larva that seemed a comet larva, white with black dots. Last year I did witness a spawn;the female was still extruding her egg mass.Which shortly later had vanished! Recently the male became sick and died.I am now in the process of pairing the widow with a young new fish which I keep behind an eggcrate partition.I imagine marine bettas are protogynous hermaphrodites, but don´t know for sure.
