Thanks guys. I'm very proud of the broodstock. They are honestly some of the best percs I have seen. The picasso came from Doni, so they might produce some snowcassos. We'll see. I'm just glad they don't take as long to bar up as my regular percs!

Thanks.

They spawned again today. That was quick. Everything seems to be going faster with these guys. They are spawning every 10-12 days and the eggs hatch on day 6. Temp is only 80*F. I'm not complaining though.

The larvae are doing well. They have nice silver bellies and appear to have some orange pigments. I also observed some "tail curling" which surprised me. With my other percs, they only exhibited this behavior when they were approaching meta, but they are only on day 3.

I collected another batch from this pair two days ago, and the older batch is getting close to meta. I'm seeing tail curls!

Thanks! The water is still a little cloudy from the phyto, so I doubt I'd be able to get any good pics. I'll try when the water clears. I'll start introducing the otohime in the next couple days. I'm so excited to see how they turn out! Hopefully I will get some picassos...

Thanks Tal! Yeah, I'm very interested to see how these fish will turn out as they mature. Some of them are very abstract already.

A couple of questions... did you get any Platiniums? Are all of them from the same clutch? Some look like Darwins... maybe just the Onyx traits showing up early?

No platinums Tal. Not complaining with the results though, I think I will at least have some A grades. There are 3 separate clutches there. Two picasso clutches and one clutch of Darwins.

I sold off the last of these guys a few weeks ago. I did lose quite a few when I went out of town but there will be more to come. I'm actually collecting more larvae from this pair as I type this!
