Species:  Hippocampus zosterae, Dwarf Seahorse
Social Structure:  Social
Size of Individuals:  adults the size of a small thumbnail, one inch average
Age of Individuals:  Approx 10 months old. acquired adults as wild caught on July 9th 2010 from sealifeinc.net
Date added to Tank:  July 9th 2010

Broodstock Tank Details
Size of Tank:  10 gallons
Substrate Details:  bare bottom
Filtration Details:  Sponge filter
Water Changes:  Daily (or every other day)
Water Temperature:  room temperature, between 67F and 74F
Lighting:  ambient room light
Lighting Cycle:  ambient room light
Other Tank Inhabitants:  no other tank mates

Broodstock Feeding Details
Food Types:  newly hatched baby brine shrimp
Feeding Schedule:  once daily

Spawning Details
Date of First Spawn:  date of egg transfer not known, assumed to be March 28thf, every 17 days or so
Spawn Time of Day:  late evening, early morning
Dates of Consecutive Spawns:  another egg transfer probably April 13th, right after giving birth
Courtship Details:  Male and female wiggle while hitched next to each other, female deposits eggs in pouch
Egg Size:  ~1.5 mm?
Egg Color:  orange
Egg Count:  less than 2 dozen

Hatch Details
Hatch Date:  April 13th
Hatch Time of Day:  late evening, early morning
# Days after Spawn:  approx 17 days
Larvae Description:  perfect replicas of adults, very advanced development

Temperature:  ambient room temp, this time of year it is around 74F
Size of Larval Tank:  10 gallons

Other Tank Decor:  tank divider glued in, plastic zip ties and plastic grass

Feeding Schedule:  Daily

Date of Settlement Start:  April 13th, the day of birth. Fry are very advanced at birth

It's been less than a month and this guy has a pouch already! Took this one today.
