I think you are correct about the sexes. Males will be larger. In my case my male hides more often and hangs out near the bottom while the female is more out and about. 
 
When it's time to spawn my male will be out more and try to lure the female into the spawning pipe. There are vids in my journal showing this behavior.

Today they Are 13 days old an big they othohime and 2 artemia enriched with selco and nanocloropsis

Well we Are 18 days old now they Are huge almost 8 mm and Are eating artemia 2 days old and fry food athohime a also y try with the frozen food i have lost a lot but still a dozen or so alive

thanks   Andrew  i collect another batch yesterday and i will try another time  is reallly frustrating that here i canot get copepods  ( maybe i will try to smuggle some trough the border jeje)

The copepods that I culture do live in Mexican waters, though probably just off the east coast. Any possibility of doing some collecting?

Too bad. Well, keep up hope. You might want to talk to companies like Reed's. They often have business partners in various countries outside the U.S. Maybe they have a relationship with someone in Mexico (especially as I know that they do a lot of collecting off the coast there) who can get their products for you.
