River shrimp
-

Anyone any ideas what species these are? My LFS sell them as river shrimp and gave me them to see if I could raise them for feeding juvenille fish. Their kept in brackish water at the LFS but I've got them at 1.021 and their doing fine. I have 6 gravid females and some eggs have already hatched, so I put in some rots and phyto. Im feeding them on pellets which is the red you can see in their stomachs, otherwise their bodies are clear. Here's a pic.

I've been feeding ghost shrimp and lord know what else kind of shrimp for the past three months or so. Twice a week the fish go nuts for them. If they are too big to be eaten (or just get out of the way!) they stay in the tank and act as a clean up crew. Their claws are tiny, so no chance of hurting the fish. They seem to be darn near bullet proof, but they love to jump out of the tank!
