Broodstock Tank Details Size of Tank: 125 gallon at first. Moved to a 10g due to the constant harassment from the tank mates.
Substrate Details: bare bottom
Filtration Details: Connected to the system with LR, Algae Scrubbler, UV, Protein Skimmer
Water Changes: 55 gallon every 2-3 weeks progressively on the 200 gallon of system water.
Water Temperature: 81F
Lighting: 50/50
Lighting Cycle: 10am-10pm
Other Tank Inhabitants: None.
Broodstock Feeding Details Food Types: Flakes/Pellet
Feeding Schedule: 2/3 times a day
Spawning Details Date of First Spawn: Discovered on May 12th, 2011 and estimated that it was the day 3
Spawn Time of Day: Various. Mostly early evening, and once it's at 9am.
Dates of Consecutive Spawns: May 9th (est.), May 24th, Jun 6th, Jun 17th, Jun 28th, July 9th, July 21st.
Courtship Details: They always hang out the same rock. During spawning, the female swim very close to the rock surface and lay eggs, and the male follow the same path right after her.
Egg Size: normal?
Egg Color: orange, then turn darker. The usual color changes.
Egg Count: May 9th - 100, May 24th - 200, Jun 6th - 200, Jun 17th - 100, Jun 28th - 30, July 9th - 100, July 21 - 100

Larvae Description: Very thin. Some are very tiny and skinny.
Larval Tank Details Temperature: 81F
Size of Larval Tank: 10 Gallon
Substrate Details: Bare Bottom
Other Tank Decor: Small sponge filter but only 1 bubble/sec at first.
Filtration Details: 5 Gallon Sump with sponge filter in the sump. Water circulation between sump and tank through 53um filters both in the water intake and at the pump.
Lighting: Day 1-3, 5W LED 3" from the water first 2-3 days. Day 3-4, 7W CF bulb. Day 5+, 11W CF bulb.
Lighting Cycle: 24 hours until meta. 8am-12am afterward.
Water Changes: 10% every day or 2 while siphoning out bottom dirt. Latest design with the green water sump make siphoning very difficult due to the dark green color of the water. However, pH remain very high and perfect water parameter. Only siphon the bottom every 3-4 days by draining most of the water out until I can see the bottom.
Larval Feeding Details Food Types: Day 1-10ish Rotifer, Day 3+ Otohime, Day 5+ BBS.
Feeding Schedule: 3 times a day

Description of Fry: By day 7, a couple of them starts to have kink tail. By day 8, many have the first head band. By day 9-10, most are done with meta except 1 or 2.

Other Tank Decor: lot of flower pots.
Filtration Details: Connected to the system with UV and skimmer.
Lighting: Just environment light from 6' above.

Water Changes: Via the system.
Size at Transfer: 1"
Age at Transfer: 60 days old.
Grow-Out Feeding Details Food Types: TDO C1
Feeding Schedule: 3-4 times a day
Additional Information Batch 1 - Completely not prepared. No food for them at all. All dead by 2nd day.
Batch 2 - Didn't understand the rotifer density issue and were underfeeding them. All dead by 3rd day.
Batch 3 - On going. Roughly 50-70 of them. The last one settled on 6/29. Feeding top dressed Oto C1.
Batch 4 - We were on vacation. Eggs were all gone when we were back.
Batch 5 - On going. About 20 larvae. Very few eggs were laid and hatched. Rotifer crashed by 3rd day. They are solely depending on Oto A and small amount of BBS.
Batch 6 - Eggs were laid on 7/09 morning. Hatch on 7/16 Sat 10:15pm. About 50.
Batch 7 - 7/21/2011. Spawned in early morning just like last time. 100+ eggs.
