Still cool, even if you don't get to raise this batch. Is this the first spawn?

How many larvae can I be kept alive until meta in a ten gallon? The nest appear to be in the 1000+ range and I would say after all is said and done I have 400-800 larvae currently in a ten gallon.

I have found that starting in a 29 with these large nest works much better than a ten gallon. I have much higher survival rates. I just start with the tank half full and slowly fill it over the next 3 days to keep water quality in check. At day 4 water changes are much easier.

Its been suggested that poor nutrition lead to more misbars in Maroons. So I started this batch only with nhbbs then moved on to unenriched three day old brine and crushed flake food. Sadly I did not get any more misbars, really I think if anything they appear to have better patterns that most of my other batches that were feed enriched rotifers and brine followed by oto.

Taken 1-1-12 or roughly 120 dps. These guys are somewhat stunted compared to my other batches in terms of growth.
