(Palaemon Serratus) Breeding shrimp for fry feed
-
Monday, August 8, 2011 3:40 PM
I collected these a couple of weeks ago and to my surprise there doing really well. There a native shrimp to UK waters (Palaemon serratus). I noticed yesterday one of the is full of eggs. So I thought I would start a journal on them. Whats suprising is they are thriving at 80 deg! I kept them outside at first thinking the heat would kill them but they are fine. Here's some pics. And the Gravid Female

You may find that they don't do well at those temps long term. Most temperate species can handle higher temps for short periods but can't sustain that over a longer period of time.
