Are you sure you have the Akindynos and not the Chrysopterus?

I've read that the Chrysos get the actual blue in the stripes and the Akindynos' stripes stay white. It's only what I've read and your pair look just like my Chryos pair.

Wow if the stripes on your Chryos's are that wide they must be stunning, or very young. Yes 90% of Akindynos do have white stripes. This colour morph is only found around Cairns. It is also lighter in colour more honey golden than brown. Just as a comparison this is my pair of chrysopterus (below). The stripes are much thinner and the fork in the tail is starting to devlop. Mature Chryso's develop really nice lyretails. Here are my Chrysopterus taken about 3 months ago.

ah I see. Thanks for the clarity. One of mine has wider stripes, but the more dominate ones stripes are thinner. The camera can not do it's justice on showing how blue they're stripes are. They are almost purple in person. http://www.mbisite.org/Forums/fb.ashx?m=64675 here's my journal of my Chryos' with pictures.
