that's a beautiful fish. Kinda odd, but something special. I wonder what other colors are out there that haven't been in captivity yet.

I had some ideas and saw then the day iBlueWater posted about them.  I am a hard skeptic on a fish like that, but I will refrain from public comment beyond that at this point in time.  What I will say is this - the only way I'd be more comfortable with them would be to see them in person, but I'm not willing to pay money out of my pocket to roll the dice on those fish given what I *think* the story might be.  I hope whomever gets them photographs the heck out of them and tracks them publicly for a few years.

From what I can find on the site they have been sold. At first I thought they were CB, but now I don't think so. If anyone has more info, I'd love to hear it.

I've seen my own camera paint some interesting colors on fish. I would have to see them in person as well.  One man's pink may be another's magenta.
That said, I think the skunk clowns are beautiful, and deserve better than their cheap price.

Would astaxanthin or other color enhancing foods possibly cause a pink fish to become "rose-magenta"?

I agree Kathy!  I don't know why they aren't more popular.

I doubt its a pumping of astaxanthin levels.

FWIW astaxanthin is not a food, its a carotenoid.  You add stuff high in astaxanthin but you don't add it.

I did ask them if they would divulge the capture location.....Of course the answer was no! I am scepticle of the colouration and would also like to see them personally. Fat chance of that!

Supposedly John and Sissy got 'em...if that's the case then hopefully next time I'm out their way I can sneak a peak.

A pair is supposed to come my way so I think I'll be able to compare it to other skunks I come across here in Singapore.

You guys know nothing about clown cuisine. A breading pair is a couple of fish being covered in grated bread before being deep fried!

Hi Matt,
Not really but a skunk variant that even Terry from ibluewater was intrigued about.
