I was feeding my juvenile clowns this morning and I noticed what I thought was micro bubbles. checked the water level of the tank thinking the float vavle got stuck on a rock again. Water level was fine. I looked back into the tank and noticed one of my snails standing up. ???

I watched and it was releasing eggs into the water column! looked at a few more and there was a male releasing sperm into the water column! My snails are spawning!! I grabbed my phone and took acouple videos. sorry if the videos are bad, but i'ts what I had within reach. In this (crappy) video just below the banggai cardinal is a female snail releasing eggs upwords and to the right in the rocks you can see a puff of sperm every now and again. I then switch over to another snail and see the releasing of eggs and then I found a male on the front panel of the tank releasing sperm. It was really neat to watch everything this morning.

Science geek me went and grabed a vial and a baster and caught some of the gametes and will look at them under a scope after I get out of work.

Here's a video of one of the fertilized eggs that I collected earlier.11 hours after fertilization. Neat and creepy at the same time.
