Yesterday night when checking on the fry, I noticed that a few had head bands developing/developed.

Here is one of the more obvious individuals.

Would this now be called a fish rather than fry?  Is it settled?

They have moved mostly towards the bottom of the RBT and are spread around the bucket rim.  Probably 1/4 of the depth from the bottom.  Though, this could be because it is very hot here for the last two days approx 40c/104f.

I would estimate I have about 15-20 individuals with head bands.

Tonight 6/12/2011, 14 days post hatch. We have multiple bands, also all fry are now small fish!

There are approx 25 fish, though that count required them to stay still and not swap positions, so I would say that there is a +- error of about 10.

After adding more broodstock to my breeding setup, this pair spent about 2 weeks turning over or moving the flower pot in their tank. I think that the activity around the breeding setup put them off of breeding. Yesturday I found the first cluch of eggs from this pair for a few weeks. The eggs appear to be 1-2 days old and all look good. Estimated lay date 1/22/12.

Thanks,

I used a canon 50d with a 100mm macro lens on a tripod for those shots.

I don't have a microscope, if you have a look in my other threads there are some examples of shrimp larvae and tang pro-larvae. These were with the same camera and a better lens with macro extension rings. The subjects in the other shots are sub 2mm in total length.

I just realised that my fish in grow out are now 60 days post settlement.
Ill take some photos tomorrow, then post and do a report.
In total I have three species that all have now made it to 60 days post settlement (about 74 days post hatch) within 1-2 days of each other.

Here are a few shots of my favorite fish in grow out, I really like the misbar pattern.
Is there any chance that the tail bars will remain or do they disappear 100% of the time?

Most of the rest of this batch have only their head bar and only a small dot of the tail bar left or none at all.  A few still have tail bars or parts, I collected a few for these photos.
Total length is now about 40mm

Here is one that still has most of its tail bar still
