Hmmm, just checked on her again. She looks normal again, although still looks to be holding eggs. Could I have just caught her before or after a bowel movement?

Thanks, me too. Should I just dial back the feedings for a few weeks to attempt healing time?

She looks ready to pop Bri....I would slow feeding to a minimum, if not stop until she spawns again or absorbs her eggs. Once her ovipositor streches too far, there's no going back.

That looks much better! Keep an eye on her. It seems to happen with females that have high fecundity and are full before the nest they have is hatched.

My female has exact the same problem, looked up everywhere, but guess this is my lucky day to find the same anomaly on MBI... Sry for bad photo quality but it is exactly the same as BriGuys's female... Mine has never laid eggs, would be her first... I wonder if that is a kind of constipation? So we just need to wait ? Thanks...

My female Ocellaris has a similar issue too. It developed over months though, and when I introduced HBH Spirulina pellets to the diet regularly it seems to have corrected itself over a few weeks.
Don't let fear and common sense stop you! =]

Yours does not look as bad as my female. I the point of my pictures, I had beed feeding her a lot and she was about to lay eggs. I eased off her feedings and I have not seen it happen again. Good luck.

Mine's been doing it for yrs. She has only been able to lay 3 of 4 nests. She was a mated pair from ORA. Miles
