Continuation Date: I split the 2 liter bottles roughly every 7 days. Sometimes they go for a long time though (like a month) if I get lazy.
Culturing Vessel Details Salinity: 1.019
Temperature: 70ish? They sit in front of a shop light in the basement. No heaters.
pH: Never tested
Vessel description: Lighting description: two 40 watt bulb shop light
Lighting cycle: 15 on, 9 off
Aeration description: rigid airline tubing run off a cheap air pump from Wal-Mart. Bubble set so the phyto looks like it is at a slow rolling boil.
Methodologies Split methodology: Cultures get split when they get dark forest green, or I need phyto. They usually go a week, but if I don't have any rotifers to feed, they go longer. I've had them go well over a month. They'll die off and come back.
Culture medium description: 20 drops of Guillards f/2 per 2 liters, added when culture is split.
Cell count: Harvested at roughly 15 million per ml (I think)

Every once in a while I will have a crash of a 2 liter bottle, but that is very rare. I started with disks from Florida Aqua Farms. They took a while to get going, but once they are established, they are easy to culture.
