i think i have the supplies i need to start working with some pods other than tigriopus .
i have a dense culture of O. marina and a stock pile of rotigrow plus .
all the sieves , aeration, culture vessels and heaters i believe i will need .
i do not have the space nor inclination to culture live algae so the species i choose must thrive on what i have or can obtain .
i would like to order 3 species of copepods . i would like 1 harp with palagic nauplii, 1 large calanoid and 1 smaller calanoid .
for the harp i was thinking tisbe and the large calanoid i was thinking the tangerines from algagen ( the genus and species doesnt come to mind at the moment . please remind me ).
as for the smaller calanoid i am not sure what would be a safe choice considering my resources .
it would be nice to order them all from one source (algagen) but parvocalanus seems tricky from what i have read and may not be an option with out live algae ( correct me if im wrong ).
so that leaves Acartia , pseudodiaptomus and apocyclops . (not sure where to get apocyclops)
whats a boy to do?
i need somthing easy-ish with the capacity for dense cultures .
i am hoping you lovely people can help me weigh out the pros and cons of culturing these species to help me come to a safer conclusion.
thanks All,
Aron
