New pair of Tomato clowns?

These were at the LFS today and were marked as wild caught Tomato clowns. This is not the typical coloring I have seen. Are these A. frenatus (tomato clowns)? Is this typical coloring?

They look like A. Melanopus to me.

Looks just like our Melanopus pair. Before the pair we have now, we were sold a pair of Melanopus but we were told they were Tomato clowns, easy to mix up the two until you really know what to look for
Our goal with "The Clown Factory" is simple....Raise healthy, beautiful, captive clownfish and ...his is our small part to help keep the Worlds reefs as God intended them to be.....Beautiful

looks exactly like my WC pair I have at work. beautiful aren't they! Mine came in from Vanuatu also labled as a Tomato. From what I understand the black pelvic fin indicates a Melanopus not a Frenatus. But in all my books with this coloration of orange and black with yellow is called a "Red and Black Clown" (pg 96 of Joyce Wilkersons book 'Clownfishes' and pg252 of 'A PocketExpert Guide to Marine Fishes' by Scott W. Michael.)

Yeah, that's a really nice pair of Melanopus. And I pulled my my archive of Kylie Waldron's website; guess which variation of melanopus would match the fish you got? Vanuatu is a match there (of course, that doesn't necessarily mean these came from Vanuatu, but if you could trace back up the chain of custody you might figure that out - it'd be worth it in my opinion).

Or me, honestly. I'm really starting to enjoy the looks of the tomato complex in my old age and those are particularly beautiful. I think I need to check into those.

They were doing good until a few days ago the female has stopped eating and has me concerned. They are a beautiful pair. I'm usually not an impulse buyer but when I seen these I had to have them.

Bummer. I hope they pull through for you. Wild-caught clowns are so tough to deal with.

Dod you QT with prazipro and/or copper? Try feeding a little bit of various foods separated by about 5 minutes to see if you can get a reaction out of her from the smell of the food in the water. if so then feed her more. Also, you should try live.

They both ate well and looked great when I first got them so I didn't treated them with anything. I should have de-wormed them when they were eating good.
