Still on the pairing phase here. Picked these two as they were different sizes and different shades of colors. Smaller one was the darkest (the only fish with a different shade in both sides of the tank) and the larger one the "regular color". They were separated on a parted tank, one in each side. Although there were other individuals of the same species hanging around in their tanks, they did not leave each other much long. I needed to buy them and check if they would get along. They are in the same tank but I still keep an egg crate separating them (it will be coming out this week). From what I read, Serranus are simultaneous hermaphrodites but I still jumped on them for their difference in colors... Go figure. I hope they were not defending their territories though.

They are eating really well but no love yet. I removed the egg crate for a while today. "The smaller one shall die" said the bigger one. So the egg crate went back in. I'll wait for some sign from them and let's see if these two get somewhere.

Not yet Luis, Francesca took the camera to work and didn't bring it back. Hope she does today so I'll get photo of them (as well the female blenny for the other journal). Arc Katana, as Luis said they are simultaneous hermaphrodites, not sequential like in clowns or dottys.

Hate is in the air... They tolerate each other when the divider is in. When the divider is out there is no chance they can coexist peacefully yet. I can't find the pics/videos I made... I'll check if they are still in the camera card.
