Hi, I am starting a new hobby of breeding my fish. I found that if you breed an onyx and a snowflake, you have a chance for something like this for results: 75% regular ocelaris or percula clown. 10% onyx clowns 10% snowflake 2.5% black clowns 1.5% black platinum 1% albino. Is that actually correct? Thanks for reading, Amphispur

Where did you get those #'s from? I'd say those are way off.

I just started working with Onyx and haven't worked with Snowflakes yet. There are other people around that are better with statistics than I am, hopefully they chime in. I would guess that those numbers represent what you "might" get rather than actual results out of 100 fry. 1% albino seems a bit high but I may be wrong when it come to Onyx and SF's.

(Again, I may be wrong) Onyx are A. percula and Snowflakes are A. ocellaris so that's going to change things a bit. IME, with Picasso's, A. percula, I get a wide range in every batch. I've never calculated the percentages though.

ok thanks for the thought. I think im going to go through with it and go get two Onyx-snowflake mixes. I've also got a pair of percs, a pair of cleaner shrimp, and a pair of peppermints also in my basement.
