Bangaii Male Confusing Me!?!?

Hi guys,
I have a male bangaii cardinal in a 70 litre reef tank with 2 black darwins clownfish He has been alone for a very long time and recently i added another female but he killed her! Since then he has been alone for the last 3 months or so. This morning I woke up and noticed his jaw was extended as if he was carrying eggs! It is still extended and when I fed him this morning he wouldnt eat either! How is this possible if he does have eggs? Is he just practising? Still as i write this he is extending his jaw.
 
I am so confused right now. I dont see how its possible. His belly is also a darker colour.
 
Please help. Would absolutely love some baby bangaiis, I have been trying for years! Dont see how its possible though so my hopes arent high at all.

Is there a possibility he has been fighting with the clowns and dislocated his jaw? That's the only thing I could possibly think of.

No, Thy are best friends. They are always together. His jaw is all good now. He expands it and shuts it as he pleases. Hahaha.

How long were they together before the new one was killed? Sounds like you added another male.

Well.....I had a female drop a batch of eggs in a holding tank here without a mate....and IIRC I believe there are a couple annecdotes about females carrying briefly...so...maybe your dude, the lady killer, is another lady?  Totally just a shot in the dark whacky hypothesis.
