Maroons question? - Saturday, January 19, 2013 2:25 PM

Well i have two maroons (premnas biaculatus) for months now, which i have been waiting for them to form a pair soon.

Small bright one is half of the other darker maroon. They swim around together, share the food, also playing games, the small one gets its body straight to other one to calm down.

But they still share different holes to sleep at night, i wonder if they could be both females already.

Read that if they do not form pair female would kill the smaller one.

Sounds like a typical male/female pair to me.

Yeah, maroons are evil. If they are hanging together at all then you should be good.

I had the case where mine would not pair for a while, but the closer that they got to breeding age, the more they started to pair together. Do not worry.

I agree with everyone else.  It took mine 6-8 months to sleep in the same spot.  My pair is spawning and the male sometimes still gets kicked out of their sleeping spot.
