Social Structure:  20 individuals
Size of Individuals:  ranging from 4" - 8"
Age of Individuals:  unknown
Date added to Tank:  January 9, 2013

Broodstock Tank Details
Size of Tank:  1000gal black round tub, 85.5" x 44.25"
Substrate Details:  bare bottom
Filtration Details:  25µm filter sock, fluidized sand bed, UV sterilizer, skimmer
Water Changes:  10% weekly
Water Temperature:  80°-82°
Lighting:  overhead fluorescent
Lighting Cycle:  13hrs on
Other Tank Inhabitants:  none

Broodstock Feeding Details
Food Types:  mix of peeled shrimp, squid cut to size, jumbo scallops
Feeding Schedule:  every four hours

Spawning Details
Date of First Spawn:  2-24-13
Spawn Time of Day:  right after lights off
Dates of Consecutive Spawns:  It started with a spawn once a week, then every other day.  Now, spawns occur every night    
Courtship Details:  have yet to witness
Egg Size:  approx. 1mm
Egg Color:  clear
Egg Count:  approx 35,000-45,000

Hatch Time of Day:  late afternoon

Larval Feeding Details
Food Types:  rotifers
Feeding Schedule:  introduced rotifers at the end of 2dph and tinted the water with RotiGreen Omega

Metamorphosis/Settlement
Date of Settlement Start:  3-19-13
Days after Hatch:  22dph
Date of Settlement End:  3-21-13
Description of Fry:  silver with black horizontal stripes, at this point (22dph) they are feeding on artemia and oto C1    

Grow-Out Tank Details

Temperature:  80 F 
Size of Grow-Out Tank:  110gal black oval tub, only filled to 75gal  
Substrate Details: none  
Other Tank Decor:  pvc pipe for shelter 
Filtration Details:  Plumbed into system filtered with 25um sock, fluidized sand bed, skimmer, and UV

Grow-Out Feeding Details
Food Types:  PE mysis, chopped squid, NLS medium pellet
Feeding Schedule:  3x daily

Additional Information
Eggs are collected with a fine mesh blue net that hangs on side of tank.Egg count was done by measuring eggs amount of eggs in a beaker, 40mL of eggs.  According to Dr. Wittenrich, 1,000 eggs per mL is a good estimate.

Miscellaneous Information: 
Single spawn was split into two separate 25gal round tubs, it was late, about 11pm, and later realized it should have been split into three. 
For the next "big" spawn, I plan on using a 110gal oval.

Thanks!  Some of the eggs do, and some do not.  As I collect more spawns, I am certainly going to pay more attention to that.  I find it interesting.

One of our French Grunt (Haemulon flavolineatum) juveniles, 27dph today!!!!  Settlement started with some of the larvae at 22dph, and all went through their metamorphosis at 24dph.

Interesting note:  Larvae starting feeding on Otohime C1 at 19dph.  3 days before metamorphosis, and feeding on small pellet!!!
