They are too huge.  For less than 60 days post settlement?  They seem pretty big to me!  Especially if you think about clownfish which seem to take FOREVER to grow sometimes.  Dottybacks (and apparently blennies!) seem to grow much faster

Here they are at 6months and 4months mixed together. Only 6 left though and the rest of other batches RIP because I traveled and didn't have time to care for them. Another batch just hatched 2 days ago. Will see if I have time to raise this batch.

Hi Mike;
I wish I'd seen your journal earlier but I haven't been on here for quite some time. lol. I took interest in your journal cause I've had a pair of spawning Midas Blennies which I I could not keep the Larvae alive past 8 dph. I have a journal on here you could look up and see the different methods I tried. I even tried with S-type (rotundiformis) Rotifers like you used. Did you try regular sized rotifers first? I am pretty new to fish breeding having succeeded only with neon gobies (oceanops). I have a local friend that breeds clownfish with lots of experience and  plentiful cultures of phyto and varied first foods. Even he gave my Midas Blennie larvae a shot with the same result, gradual deaths till day 8 when only a dozen or so are left. Very little growth and development observed. Are you using any broodstock tank water in the 10 gal larval tub? Your help is greatly appreciated.

Richard.

Re: Breeding Journal, Species: [Insert Species Name Here] - Friday, December 4, 2015 2:05 PM
So...we have to do some updating here, as earlier this year DNA testing properly identified this species as the Feather Duster Blenny, Hypleurochilus multifilis

http://www.fishbase.org/s...filis&lang=English

So the reports filed as Crested Blenny need to be updated by us for starters.  Since I personally know Mike has done this species backwards and forwards through multiple generations, it will also go into our system as an accomplished species, but also, if Mike is able to file the remaining settlement and 60 days post settlement reports, he is entitled to a species first recognition.
