Nervous clowns - Wednesday, March 13, 2013 3:24 AM

I have a pair of snowflake clowns that I have had for 3 years. They are a nervous pair that never settled down. They dart out from hiding grab a bite to eat and rush back to hide, unlike other pairs I have that beg for food at the front of tank ( they act like my wild caught saddleback or skunk pairs). They have randomly been laying eggs since last August and are still eating them today. I have given up on these and are going to break them up. Which is less disruptive (or best), to move the male to a new tank/partner or the female? Or does it matter?

I think most people swap the male out first simply as it is easier to replace the male due to size, than trying to find a bigger female.

Agreed, you'll have an easier time finding new males than females.
