Culturing Vessel Details Salinity: 1.025-1.050, I try to keep it near 1.025 but it does fluctuate.
Temperature: 65-78ºF (in basement right next to a furnace)
pH: Not measured
Vessel description: 5g buckets
Lighting description: Indirect from the compact fluorescent bulbs over my other cultures.
Lighting cycle: 10 hrs
Aeration description: None. I tried strong and weak aeration but found the less the better and none the best.
Methodologies Split methodology: Once a month. I sieve about half of the water volume out of the culture to collect copepods and then replenish the culture with synthetic seawater using Seachem Reef Salt.
Culture medium description: The copeopds are fed powdered (using a mortar and pestle) Spectrum Thera A pellets about every other day.
As of around late 2013 I have begun feeding 50-100um Golden Pearls and will soon begin mixing in a small amount of powdered Spirulina algae.
