I'm not meaning dark as nutritious, I can see that it is that by the health of what it is being fed to and assume (which is more than likely a mistake) that the F/s and light are providing the nutrition. I use it for many things, but when I use it to tint the water my clown larval are in I want it as dense as I can get it. I have not found a sieve at a reasonable price to separate the phyto from the culture water. Dark/ dense is being used to refer to the fact that the culture is more phyto, less water and fertilizer.

With Nano, you can let a bottle settle in the fridge, and it will still be good for larval rearing, but you can decant off the clear liquid, and you are left with a much more concentrated phytoplankton. No need to stress the culture trying to get it darker. Like most growing things, they will plateau and become senescent if left too long without suplemental fertilizer. A 7 to 10 day schedule of splits has been best for me in my experience. Miracle grow is a terrestrial plant fertilizer, so …it may not be the best choice to feed the food that feeds your larvae. Just my opinion. Your results may vary.
