Vessel description: Clear 3L cereal/food containers
Lighting description: Ambient light from southern facing window supplemented by a 2 bulb fluorescent strip light
Lighting cycle: 6am-9pm (or at least sunrise to sunset)
Aeration description: One culture is aerated with a rigid airline tubing, the other culture is not aerated
Methodologies Split methodology: Once the culture began to look dense, about 1/4 of the water was removed and was replaced with fresh ASW of the same salinity
Culture medium description: When the water clears, live phytoplankton (Tetraselmis, Chaetoceros, or Isochrysis) is added to tint the water slightly.
