Lysmata wundermani having eggs without another present?
-
Friday, August 9, 2013 9:57 PM
Ok so I thought I was going crazy, but I was indeed right. I've got a single wundermani in a tank, the only shrimp in my entire breeding setup, and its holding eggs. Will these eggs get fertilized? Or is this just like a shrimps "Period" so to speak.

From what I understand eggs are externally fertlized, and the acting "male must be present. One lone shrimp can/will lay eggs eggs like normal they just won't be fertlized, and will rid them as they go bad in the next couple of days.
