I am not really sure why I never put anything in this thread, but I guess I'll start now! So in August of 2013, in my teacher's tank we had noticed that his yellow-tailed damsels were acting odd. Then turns out they had spawned in his tank. We kept at it, trying to get the eggs away from the guys, but his tank had so much rock, the damsels had found just the right spot where we could not reach. We did manage to collect one batch, it only lasted 3 days on tisbe's. Fast forward to yesterday, his tank had crashed over Christmas break and he let me take all the fish home, which included his actively spawning pair. I now have them setup in a 10g in my breeding setup with some lysmata's. Hopefully soon I should be expecting eggs!

So, this morning I was feeding, and I noticed, what I believe, is pre-spawning behavior. The female was fanning a corner of the tank glass, and making sure the male was no where near it. Hopefully, some spawning will happen within a few days. Does this sound about right for pre-spawn? I'll try and post a video later.

Here is that video I promised, the behavior I'm talking about, fanning wise, happens around 2 minutes
