Broodstock Tank Details Size of Tank: 480 gallons
Substrate Details: Sand
Filtration Details: At the time, I was running skimmers. I just use algae and water changes now.
Water Changes: ~10%/month
Water Temperature: 81° F
Lighting: Metal halides
Lighting Cycle: 12 hours on/off
Other Tank Inhabitants: Tangs, colony of grammas, blennies, clowns, blue chromis, snails
Broodstock Feeding Details Food Types: A mash of homemade food. I aim to make it as good as Rod's but I doubt I get that good.
Feeding Schedule: At the time of the spawns, 3-4 times/day. I feed 2x/day now.
Spawning Details Date of First Spawn: 5/11/2009
Spawn Time of Day: ~8 p.m.
Dates of Consecutive Spawns: Every day. Before I lost the male, the pair eventually started spawning 2x and then 3x daily.
Courtship Details: The pair spin around each other until they finally decide to make a dash for the surface, releasing gametes at the end.
Egg Size: Very small. I think I caught one egg (dang tank isn't good for it, really). It was about 500 microns.
Egg Color: Clear.
Egg Count: Unknown.
