2014 Marine Breeder's Workshop Dates!

I'm pleased to announce that the Fifth Annual Marine Breeder's Workshop will be held the third weekend in July 2014!
 
As in years past we will start with a reception on Friday, July 18th. The Workshop will be on Saturday, July 19th followed by a BBQ at my place on Sunday, July 20th.
 
Speakers and hotel information will be announced over the next few weeks and tickets will be available in early March.

Why is it that I can fly to Miami for $515, but it costs $900 to Detroit?  Bah!  Well, I hope to make it this year...!

West Jet will get you into Windsor for just over 500. Windsor is about the same distance to the venue as DTW. Might be a bit soon to shop for fares too.

Woah, I didn't even know Windsor was anywhere near Detroit.  Haha!  :o  Yes, probably a bit too early.  Could you please give some info in this thread regarding the venue or at least city name for those of us who don't know off-hand?

Yes, the Windsor airport is actually a few minutes closer to me than DTW. Go figure!  
The Workshop will be at the Cranbrook Institute of Science in Bloomfield Hills, MI. I haven't finished updating the Workshop site with the new info yet. Just wanted to get the dates posted.

Adam, that would be great if someone would be kind enough to pick me up.  I think I'm going to fly into Windsor, but I'm contemplating just going to Detroit simply because border crossing is usually easier in an airport than actually going across the border.  What do you guys think?  What's that border crossing like?

The border crossing isn't that bad. Considering how much you would probably save by flying into Windsor I'd do that. Windsor is about the same distance to Cranbrook as Metro airport.

Don't know about the bioluminescence, but he does have a lake to offer! It's quite lovely, and some have been known to get wet at the bar-b-que.

Sorry guys, I won't be making it again this year.    Hubby is out of town this week/weekend and I have no one to look after the (fish) shop.  I am so frustrated as I've begged Tal to get Andy Rhyne to go to the MBI.  I just finished building my upwellers a few weeks ago, so I have plenty of interest in Andy's work!

Sounds good! Sorry, no salty water here other than in tanks and tubs. If you come to the BBQ on Sunday I might let you collect some from my tubs.
