Species description:  Heterotrophic dinoflagellate

Culture Establishment Date:  4-8-2014 (first photographed for establishment proof on 4-19-2014)

Culturing Vessel Details
Salinity:  ~1.021
Temperature:    ~64-70F (basement room temp) 
pH:  Not measured

Vessel description:  500mL bottle
Lighting description:  Fluorescent strip light
Lighting cycle:  14 hours on, 10 off
Aeration description:  Rigid airline tubing set to a continuous bubble, but not a boil 

Methodologies
Split methodology: I split every couple days, or as the culture seems to need it.

Culture medium description: 
A squirt of Iso or RG complete for feeding as needed, and split using ~1.022 (ish) ASW that has been sterilized (1/2mL bleach per liter for 1 hours, neutralized with 1.5mL of 1M sodium thiosulfate per liter)

Finally got time for some pics. I had thought I lost the culture, but today I found some cruising around. The culture isn't "thriving" but it's still going at least

Took a peek at the culture again tonight and it is already more dense. I've been feeding Iso. Well, actually, I fed Iso days ago but it still hasn't all been eaten.

Definitely split these often. Their population doubling rate is really fast.
