Lock jaw in Clownfish - Monday, January 5, 2015 10:54 PM

Anyone have experience with lock jaw in Clowns?  I seem to have a run of this problem, and I'm not sure why.  I have my third fish showing this complication in the last 12 months.  I've tried pulling them and physically moving the jaw around and it moves easily, but this doesn't help.  I tried feeding tiny bits to one fish and she lived for several months before I euthanized her.  Why does this happen?

It could simply be a birth defect.  If the jaw is moving it may be the muscle around the jaw (since they can't seem to close the mouth) that is the cause.   When other fish I've had have gotten it (tangs in particular) it is usually due to damage from shipping/fighting and is pretty much over then for the fish.
