Getting my local reef site to Join the Marine Breeding Initiative - Monday, January 19, 2015 2:25 AM
To whoever deals with this type of question.
Im currently in the process of trying to establish a more collective approach to Marine Breeding in Australia.Whilst there are a reasonable number of people who do breed across the country, there appears to be little in the way of sharing of information/co-operation and sharing of resources that can be hard to obtain here (live foods/plankton for example).
One of the items I would like to propose is to initiate breeding journals and integrate with the MBI points/reports process. As part of this I wanted to check on the actual process and get an idea on the workload for the forum administrators (if any ongoing work is required) to implement such a task before I suggested it.
From the MBI homepage there is a link to "fill out the site application form at: http://www.mbisite.org/siteapplication.aspx".On this page it appears that as long as there is a correctly named forum, that is publicly accessible and has the template it place, you are good to go (assuming you meet the other details). Can there be sub forums? e.g. for Fish, Shrimp etc?
I just wanted to confirm this so that I don't set an incorrect belief if I propose it.What's not 100% clear to me is for the "Standard Site" are there are ANY code changes that need to be integrated with the Forum Software or is it just the registration process at MBI?
The forum in question is "Reefing the Australian Way", its a phpBB forum available here http://www.masa.asn.au/phpBB3/index.php
thanks
Darren
