Species description:  single cell motile green algae

Culturing Vessel Details
Salinity:  30.5ppt
Temperature:  72-78 F 
pH:  not measured


Vessel description:  6.5 gallon clear plastic carboys
Lighting description: white/blue /red 3 watt LEDs various mixtures 2 -72 watt strips per 4' of culture row (equates to 4 carboys)  color temperature does not seem to make a dfifference
Lighting cycle:  24/7
Aeration description:  central blower with filtered outside air
vigorous aeration with single  3/16" rigid tubing per carboy

Methodologies

Split methodology: prepare sterile carboy stopper and rigid airline
pour of top 1/2 of culture into new carboy add sterilized salt water to fill
add 4 ml Guillards F/2 formulation

Culture medium description:  sterilized salt water with 2.5 ml per gallon of Guillards F/2 formulation per gallon

dark green color before splits
