Grow-Out Tank Details Temperature: Size of Grow-Out Tank: Substrate Details: Other Tank Decor: Filtration Details: Lighting: Lighting Cycle: Water Changes: Size at Transfer: Age at Transfer: Grow-Out Feeding Details Food Types: Feeding Schedule: Additional Information Miscellaneous Information: Female had previously spawned in my nano tank however the eggs had disappeared by the next day.
After transfering to a small tank which was situated in the sump of my main reef tank she spawned again. The next day the eggs were not visable however, after closer inspection I could just see the tiny eggs hidden well under her tail.
I had started with 3 shrimp originally. Judging by the markings on their tail I believed I had 2 females and 1 male. After a few months the male disappeared, and I was left with the two females. These two were transfered to the sump tank. I now realise I was wrong with the sexing. Although they both still have the widely accepted markings of a female, I assume one must be a male.
After careful observation, I have seen some interesting things. On the first day I noticed the eggs the female had a large number of them hanging off her and clearly visable. The next day, they were tightly tucked up under her tail and well protected. It was very difficult to see if she was still carrying them. Early this morning (3SEP15) I noticed her rapidly flicking her tail and a number of orange eggs underneath her body. Approx 10mins later she had tucked the eggs back up under her tail.
