Female is obviously gravid, wider and with obvious ovipositor. Male turns silver and grabs female's tail while "shimmying" and trying to impress her.

Spawning Behavior:
|
pair "dances," synchronized swimming, trumpeting heads, sudden and vibrant color changes. Pair ascends to top of water, on the way down, female deposits eggs in male's pouch.

Male becomes more shy, pouch gets larger until fry are expelled 18 days later.
